As a Public Health professional, I am passionately involved with racial and social justice that addresses disparities amongst vulnerable populations.
I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Health from UC Merced and am now a candidate for the Master Public Health Program (community health promotion) at USC Keck School of Medicine.
In my journey through community health and wellness initiatives, I have promoted healthy behaviors on diverse levels. I supported the prevention of tobacco initiation for Hispanic/Latinx youth, informed expecting parents on evidence-based topics on preconception and pregnancy, provided resources for COVID-19-positive people who are experiencing homelessness, educated communities on the importance of vaccination, and worked toward reducing food insecurity for UC Merced students through nutrition education. I have gained the skills of developing relationships with cross-functional team members, case management, creating culturally sensitive educational material, and organizing community events.
